This week, we focused on fishing off the end of the jetty in New Smyrna Beach, and everything came together the way winter pompano fishing should.

Conditions on the Water

Clean water and steady current set the stage. The weather cooperated, seas stayed manageable, and the fish were comfortable sliding through with the flow. When winter lines up like this, the jetty can be hard to beat.

The Pompano Bite

Schools were moving through consistently, and once we located them, the action stayed steady. Fish were stacked up tight and feeding aggressively, leading to quick limits and nonstop rod bends. It was one of those bites where you don’t have much downtime.

Family-Friendly Action

Seeing the kids get involved was the highlight. Plenty of bites, plenty of fish hitting the deck, and lots of excitement without long waits between hookups. These are the kind of trips that make winter pompano fishing special for families.

Why Now Is the Time

This bite is happening right now, and winter doesn’t last forever. When pompano are moving like this, you want to take advantage while conditions stay right.
