Redfish, Big Snook, and Family Fishing Action Around New Smyrna Beach

The inshore bite has been nothing short of incredible lately around New Smyrna Beach and the Daytona area. Families, first timers, and seasoned anglers alike have been getting in on steady action, with beautiful redfish and oversized snook keeping rods bent and smiles wide.

The weather gave us a little bit of everything this week, but the fish stayed fired up and ready to eat.

We spent plenty of time working docks and deeper channel edges with live bait, and it paid off in a big way. Several upper slot and oversized snook made appearances, including a few absolute tanks that had rods doubled over and crews cheering from the deck. When those big fish strike, there is nothing subtle about it.

The redfish bite stayed steady too, with quality fish showing up trip after trip. Clean water around the inlet helped keep the action consistent, especially during the early morning bite before the afternoon storms started building.

Family Fishing Trips Making Memories

One of the best parts of this week was watching families make memories together on the water. Kids were hooked up on trophy fish, parents were snapping photos and cheering them on, and first fish quickly turned into personal bests.

That is what makes fishing around the Indian River Lagoon, New Smyrna Beach, and Daytona Beach so special. You never know when the next cast might turn into the fish everyone talks about for the ride home.

What to Expect Over the Next Few Weeks

If conditions hold, the next few weeks should bring some outstanding inshore fishing opportunities. Summer is settling in, the snook are active, the redfish are feeding, and the morning bite has been hard to beat.

If you are thinking about getting out on the water, now is a great time to plan a trip. The fish are active, the action is steady, and there is no better way to spend a morning than watching rods bend with family and friends aboard.
