The nearshore bite has been on fire this week, and it's been some of the best fishing we've seen in quite a while. Calm seas gave us plenty of opportunities to get just off the beach, and the fish definitely showed up.

Flounder fishing has been outstanding, with several quality fish coming over the rail, including a few true doormats that made for unforgettable catches. Along with the flounder, we've been finding giant sand trout, plus plenty of whiting and croaker to keep the rods bent all day long. If you're looking to bring home fresh fish for dinner, now is a great time to get on the water.

The shark bite has been just as exciting. Blacktip sharks have been cruising the beaches and feeding aggressively, giving anglers powerful runs and screaming drags. We've had several families and first time shark anglers experience the thrill of landing these incredible fish, and those are the moments that make memories long after the trip is over.

When the weather lines up like it has this week, the New Smyrna Beach nearshore fishery really shines. From trophy flounder and giant sand trout to hard fighting blacktip sharks, there's been no shortage of action for anglers of every experience level.

Summer is in full swing, the fish are feeding, and our calendar is filling quickly. If you've been thinking about getting on the water, now is the time. Give Capt. Chad a call and let's put you on your next memorable catch.
